I appreciate diversity. So I work with diverse media, sometimes mixing them, because I like trying new things and returning to old things. My appreciation of diversity also leads me to work with a variety of styles and techniques as I approach painting or making prints.
Sometimes I follow the path of realism, sometimes the path of abstraction and other times the path of non-objectivity. What I choose to do comes from a sense of play, from a sense of wanting to find out what will happen if I mix Quinacridone Violet with Dioxazine Purple, but more often I want to communicate something visually. I want my artworks to be about something other than just me and my idiosyncrasies.
